MAS in Management, Technology, and Economics
The MAS MTEC programme empowers you to become an innovative and critical leader by equipping you with expertise in technology management and economics and furthering your personal development. Since 1980, more than 2,000 graduates have completed the programme and gone on to assume management and leadership roles in companies and organisations.

Programme Details
From the first to the third semester, the programme teaches professional competencies in the following areas:
- General Management;
- Human Resource Management;
- Strategy, Markets & Technology;
- Information & Operations Management;
- Quantitative & Qualitative Methods for Solving Complex Problems;
- Economics;
- Financial Management.
Courses can mostly be chosen according to students’ individual specialisations and complemented through electives, block courses and study abroad.
The Master’s thesis is written in the fourth semester in conjunction with a partner from industry.
The programme is taught in English.
Candidates must have:
- A degree at the Master's level in a scientific or technical discipline from a university recognised by ETH, or an equivalent educational qualification.
- A Bachelor's degree is accepted on presentation of additional qualifications.
- At least two years of professional experience.
- Good command of English.
The MAS MTEC is a four-semester, part-time programme, starting every year in the Autumn Semester (September). It consists of two parts: the first three semesters are made up of lectures, seminars and block courses, while the fourth semester is devoted to a Master’s thesis.
- We recommend reducing your professional workload to 80 percent and completing the programme parallel to your job.
- To this end, we offer flexibility in terms of distributing your workload over the course of the programme.
