MAS in Management, Technology, and Economics
The MAS in Management, Technology, and Economics (MAS MTEC) is a part-time, four-semester programme. It prepares engineers and technical experts to drive change across teams, projects, and organisations.

With a history of over 40 years, the MAS MTEC is a leading programme for technical professionals who want to expand their profile in management and economics. It equips participants with the skills to navigate complex challenges where technology, management, and economics intersect. Unlike a conventional business degree, it combines management principles with a strong technical component, making it uniquely suited for engineers and tech specialists.
The curriculum provides a solid foundation in strategy, markets and technology, innovation management, operations, human resources, and economics. Equally important is its focus on personal development through the leadership journey, which helps participants cultivate their unique leadership style and strengthen their capabilities. Additionally, a broad selection of electives from ETH Zurich enables participants to tailor their studies and build a specialised skill set aligned with their career ambitions.
The fourth semester is dedicated to an independent Master’s thesis. These theses are typically carried out within participants’ organisations or other firms, offering immediate benefits or opportunities to explore new challenges.
The programme’s long history has fostered a large and active alumni
community. Alumni actively contribute as mentors and participate in student-alumni workshops focused on emerging technologies and industry
trends.
MAS MTEC graduates are ready to lead change as technical experts, project leaders, or managers. They make a lasting impact in their organisations and industries.
