MTEC doctoral student Julian Senoner receives Best Student Paper Award
Julian Senoner, doctoral student at the Chair of Production and Operations Management, has received the “Harry Boer Best Student Paper Award” from the European Operations Management Association.
At the 26th external page EurOMA Conference in Helsinki, Finland, Julian Senoner received the award as lead author of the research article “Using Machine Learning to Improve Manufacturing: Proposing and Validating a Data-Driven Framework”, by J. Senoner, O. Fläschner, and T. Netland.
In his paper, Senoner proposed and validated a data-driven framework for production improvement. His research incorporates the latest developments in machine learning to address the complexity of today’s manufacturing systems. The approach was successfully validated in an authentic manufacturing setting at ABB Semiconductors in Lenzburg, Switzerland.

The Harry Boer Best Student Paper Award
This annual award is granted to the best paper presented at the external page EurOMA Conference (European Operations Management Association) and authored by a doctoral student. Papers are judged on their contribution towards the advancement of the theory and practice of Operations Management.
