MTEC doctoral student to attend Global Young Scientists Summit

Vaibhav Krishna, doctoral student at the Chair of Strategic Management and Innovation at D-MTEC, has been selected to participate in the 2020 Global Young Scientists Summit in Singapore. This international summit brings young scientists and researchers from a variety of disciplines together with eminent international science and technology leaders. It provides a platform for conversations addressing science and research, technological innovation and society, and solutions to global challenges.

The theme of the eighth edition of the external page Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) is “Advancing Science, Creating Technologies for a Better World”. Participants will take part in lectures, plenary sessions and panel discussions and will have the opportunity to interact with speakers in informal small-group sessions. They will also visit local universities, research centres and agencies to learn more about Singapore’s research and innovation ecosystem, and will engage in social and cultural activities to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of multi-cultural Singapore.

The summit aims to:

  • Inspire young scientists to engage in research that addresses serious global challenges and the future needs of mankind;
  • Forge connections between young researchers, like-minded peers and eminent scientific leaders through sessions involving close personal interaction; and
  • Enable participants with compelling research proposals to take the first steps toward bringing their ideas to fruition.

The 2020 Global Young Scientists Summit will take place from 14 to 17 January 2020 at the Biopolis research and development centre in Singapore.
