Analyzing the transition toward pesticide-free agricultural systems holistically, under consideration of economics, implications for production, as well as associated uncertainties and risks and their interactions with farmer preferences. 

Focusing on two main case studies: 

• wheat: substituting herbicides on a field-level with non-chemical methods
• grapevine: adoption of fungi-resistant varieties and implementation of other pesticide reduction measures on vineyards
