Research Integrity Advisor

Upholding research integrity is essential for ensuring trustworthy and high-quality scientific work at ETH Zurich and D-MTEC. The Research Integrity Advisor promotes a strong culture of responsible research through comprehensive education and training initiatives designed for researchers at all career stages, especially doctoral candidates.

The Research Integrity Advisor provides guidance on best practices in data management, authorship protocols, collaborative research frameworks, and conflict of interest identification. The role is designed to support and complement the professorships and labs in their own efforts to uphold high research integrity standards. The Research Integrity Advisor neither replaces these efforts nor intervenes in individual decisions within professorships, but instead provides additional institutional support and resources to strengthen the overall culture of responsible research.

Key responsibilities include organising targeted workshops and training sessions to support researchers, staff, and doctoral candidates understand and effectively apply ETH Zurich's rigorous standards for responsible research conduct. The Research Integrity Advisor serves as a primary resource for navigating complex ethical considerations that arise throughout the research process, from initial study design through publication and dissemination.
