Entrepreneurial Leadership Seminar 2020

The 2020 ELS provided participating MSc, MAS and doctoral students with a rewarding learning experience: a real case study of strategy and innovation in close collaboration with the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group.

Three different teams worked on future-oriented topics like personalised medicine, preventive healthcare, genomics and digitalisation. They investigated external and internal business models as well as marketing strategies that dealt with sensitive and controversial topics. In a final presentation, the participants gave their recommendations to key Hirslanden stakeholders and received valuable feedback in return. Several D-MTEC professors supported and coached the participants during this educational journey.

Celina Bernasconi, MSc MTEC student

“…a very valuable and (surprisingly) enjoyable experience, and I have learned a lot about the way a complex and multi-faceted case should be approached…”
Kaiwen Guo, MSc MTEC student

“…for me is a very good practise to get into a real consulting project and develop leadership skills. I found it super interesting to me, as this is one the main areas I would search for jobs when I finish my studies. It is certainly helpful to my career development.”
Yun Deng, MAS MTEC student

Would you recommend this seminar to a good friend from among your peer students?

"Absolutely. This is a course that I enjoyed very much and would certainly recommend it to anyone."
Özge Karakas, MAS MTEC student

"YES! It was a great experience! I got so many new skills and know-how with this seminar! It is not only listening to the professor and recap this at an exam. It is listening to the professor and then discuss it with him and come up with own suggestions."
Charlotte Schneider, MSc MTEC student

"I already did on more than one occasion. The combination of super-engaged teaching staff, the involvement of multiple high-profile professors in coaching sessions, the in-depth focus on one relevant business case, and a selection of talented participants made the ELS really stand out."
Dr Michael Zehnder, MAS MTEC student

“This seminar can by all means be recommended to peers. It is an enrichment in the study curriculum with its special setup and the consultancy perspective. Especially since these are real life cases and scenarios and the team needs to work together to come up with a solution to a challenge of a company.“
Sandra Winkelmann, MAS MTEC student
