Curriculum Update 2028
The new Curriculum 2028 (PAKETH) will change the academic calendar and examination system at ETH Zurich from 2028 onwards. On this website, you will find the programme-specific changes that affect the Master of Science programme in Management, Technology, and Economics (MSc MTEC).
Important note: The implementation of PAKETH has been postponed from the Autumn semester 2027 to the Autumn semester 2028. This is because the implementation cannot proceed without a complex modernisation of the teaching application landscape, which has been delayed.
General information about PAKETH can be found on the PAKETH for students page. > See the ETH PAKETH website
What is changing in the MSc MTEC?
D-MTEC is using PAKETH to revise the MSc MTEC curriculum comprehensively. Detailed information will be available on the D-MTEC website from summer 2026.
Transitional arrangements
- From autumn semester 2028 onwards, the study regulations are being revised and consecutive enrolment for ETH D-MAVT and D-ITET bachelor students will no longer be possible.
Learning units
The MSc MTEC curriculum will be redesigned starting in the autumn semester of 2028. Students who begin their studies in the autumn semester of 2027 or spring semester of 2028 must plan their studies in close consultation with the study administration to ensure a smooth transition to the new regulations.
Guidelines and study regulations
The revised curriculum will see the core courses and electives restructured. In addition, a foundation semester will be introduced in the first semester. From the second semester onwards, students will choose one of four specialisations.
Students who begin their studies in the autumn semester of 2027 are advised to complete the newly defined basic courses before the autumn semester of 2028, if possible, and to consult with the Student Office at an early stage regarding the possible specialisations.
