Status conversation & progress report
Once you have been definitively admitted as a doctoral candidate, you must submit a written progress report in preparation for the annual status conversation with your doctoral thesis supervisor.
The annual status conversation consists of two separate parts:
Academic progress
You will write the progress report in preparation for the first part, which deals with your academic progress. The report should describe the research results you have already attained as well as further steps you will be taking. Any significant deviations from your doctoral plan must also be noted. It is recommended that second advisors participate in this part of the status conversation.
Personal development
The second part of the status conversation, which deals with assessment and your career and personal development, is conducted in confidence between you and your supervisors. This part includes mutual feedback and a discussion about further developing your competencies.
Both the progress report and the report documenting the result of the annual status conversation (see templates below) will be sent to the second advisor for informational purposes.
