Nominating your second advisor
As a doctoral candidate, you will be supervised by at least two persons. The supervisor of your doctoral thesis and a second advisor.
After consulting with you, your supervisor will nominate the second advisor: an academically qualified person with proven expertise who will provide you with additional specialist support and task-related advice.
The second advisor is significantly involved in the development of your doctoral plan and will form part of the Aptitude Colloquium committee, before which you will defend your research project.
You are required to inform the ETH Doctoral Administration of the name of your second advisor within the first year of your doctorate and before your aptitude colloquium takes place via a Download registration form (PDF, 223 KB).
