Expansions and transitions in the department staff
Amidst organisational changes, new programme leaders will join the department staff: Carrie Joda as Coordinator of Studies for the MSc MTEC, Evelina Kramer as MAS MTEC Programme Manager, and Ana Procópio Schön will join the team while keeping her role in the emba X programme.

As the administrative backbone of D-MTEC, the department staff manages its major study programmes, implements departmental policies, supports departmental units operationally and coordinates between them and central units of ETH. Its organisational structure will change in March and April of 2024 as new programme leaders will join.
On 1 March, Carrie Joda, Evelina Kramer and Ana Procópio Schön joined the department staff as programme leaders, enabling a consolidated organisational structure illustrated below. “This transition signifies not just a shift in personnel, but a strategic realignment designed to optimise D-MTEC’s operations and development,” says Swantje Pless, former Coordinator of Studies and Department Coordinator since January. “I am confident that this transition will strengthen our team.” Susanne Boese stepped into retirement after managing D-MTEC as Department Coordinator for almost seven years and repeatedly serving ETH Zurich since 1997.
For the MSc MTEC: Carrie Joda
Carrie Joda will fully assume her role as Coordinator of Studies for the MSc MTEC on 1 April after a transitionary period. Previously, as Deputy Director of the “Europa Institut” of the University of Zurich, she worked for several years in leadership positions managing continuing education programmes, partnerships, and other projects.
For her, studying is about the setting: “Our MSc MTEC graduates will have to navigate complex issues and push for transformative change in business and society. I am dedicated to establishing an innovative and empowering ecosystem to prepare them for this demanding role. The D-MTEC community undertakes top-tier research; we cultivate innovative teaching and constantly engage with industry practitioners at the intersection of what MTEC stands for. This equips our students with a unique skill set to emerge as successful leaders of tomorrow, capable of making meaningful impact.”
For the MAS MTEC: Evelina Kramer
Evelina Kramer will join and lead the MAS MTEC team as Programme Manager as of 1 March 2024. She has worked in the educational sector in private and public institutions, including as a community manager at the MBA programme of the University of St.Gallen. Throughout her career, Evelina Kramer built communities, engaged alumni and forged corporate partnerships. She devised Learning and Development programmes to nurture these networks and utilised them to improve the corresponding organisations' standing and avail.
“Providing experienced students with a well-rounded skill set is invaluable in today's interconnected and ever-changing business world. D-MTEC stands out for its commitment to bridging the gap between technology and management. On top of that, the MAS MTEC programme emphasises course flexibility, industry collaborations, and personal growth. This makes it the perfect management programme for the region,” Evelina Kramer says. “I would like to leverage both my personal experience and the expertise already in the team to generate a positive and lasting impact for the programme and its students. But first of all, I look forward to starting my new role and getting to know the faculty, students, and alumni.”
The current MAS MTEC Programme Coordinator, Dr Bastian Bergmann, will focus on the content development of the MAS MTEC as Educational Director and lecturer.
For the emba X: Ana Procópio Schön and Parinitha Mundra
Ana Procópio Schön has been integral to the emba X programme since its foundational phase in 2020. She was involved in designing its curriculum and facilitated its successful launch during the pandemic. Today, she is the go-to person for faculty; she guides content development, implements the programme’s blended learning concept, and contributes to teaching herself as a lecturer and coach.
After a change in the directorate of the emba X, Ana Procópio Schön will join the departmental staff as Head of Learning of the emba X programme, together with Parinitha Mundra, who will support her as Operational Coordinator.
“I am looking forward to contributing to the professional development initiatives at D-MTEC, particularly those aimed at senior and experienced executives,” Ana Procópio Schön says. “I believe in expanding and strengthening D-MTEC's position as a leader in innovative, high-impact programmes that combine management and technology such as the emba X, leveraging knowledge and strength across departments and institutions.”
