Our story
feMTEC was founded on 10 May 2021 by doctoral students Stefani Stefanova and Anna Kulakovskaya with the main objective to apply an inclusive-of-all approach to community building and promotion of gender equality at the departmental level. A survey following the association's launch identified activities which could improve our knowledge and skills along various domains, while reflecting the needs and interests of our female community. Based on the survey results, the feMTEC activity focused on five main areas: (i) topical discussions; (ii) guest talks and seminars; (iii) networking and team building; (iv) workshops and targeted training, and (v) diversity and sustainability initiatives. feMTEC grew rapidly from idea to reality thanks to the great team effort of its members reflecting on the motivation and drive of the D-MTEC community.
