Fostering Gender Equality at ETH
Many of us are not aware of the initiatives put in place to support the professional development of female scientists and women participation in the academia. A number of supporting networks and programs are currently implemented at and accessible through the ETH domain to encourage women’s academic and professional development.
external page CONNECT is a programme established jointly by the ETH domain and the University of Zurich in collaboration with private sector enterprises to encourage the career development of women educated in STEM disciplines as well as to improve mobility between academia and industry.
The external page PRIMA grants are an initiative of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) which offers competitive financial support to women researchers for independent projects at the group leader level. The programme has a broad scope including all Swiss research institutions and grants invaluable opportunities for academic career development.
Do you want to expand your network and reach out to other departments? Diversity associations have been established at other research and administration departments of the ETH domain to build communities, foster inclusiveness, and encourage underrepresented groups of researchers and administrative employees to exchange information and participate in various events.
external page Fix the leaky pipeline is a programme for young female scientists (doctoral students and postdocs) working in the ETH Domain which offers a variety of support services and targeted training for career development, including courses, coaching groups, personalized and peer mentoring.
